Gospel Communities

Gospel + safety + time = Gospel community

The gospel of Jesus Christ saves, redeems, and transforms people. When gospel-people do life together, gospel-communities are formed. And gospel-communities impact the city by engaging in the gospel-mission to make more disciples.

Gospel communities are made up of people who share their lives together—from homes and hobbies to meals and mowers. In these communities, the internal transformation of the gospel becomes visible as we practice hospitality, bear each other’s burdens, serve our neighbors, and grow in faith together.

As we believe and live out the gospel in community, we begin to plan and pray and partner together so that people in our neighborhoods and relational networks can hear and experience the gospel.

We are disciples, living on mission together to make more disciples.

We recognize that Gospel Communities are vital for fostering meaningful relationships, but we understand that sometimes people feel the need to change groups. This could be due to a lack of relational connection or shifting seasons of life, and that’s okay. Our primary concern is that when someone decides to transition to a new GC, they address any relational tensions directly with their former GC leaders or members to ensure a healthy and gracious departure, maintaining the unity and love that defines our community.

Thank you for your interest in joining a Gospel Community! We desire to foster the type of community where members of a GC can know each other in such a way as to know where each person needs the gospel of Jesus Christ applied to their lives. Whether this is your first time joining a GC or are returning from a pause, we hope you experience that here at Emmaus and in a Gospel Community.
