At Emmaus Road Church, we value church membership because it reflects the biblical call to covenant community (1 Cor. 12:27; Acts 2:41–47). Formally belonging to a local church fosters accountability, mutual edification, and faithful participation in worship and sacraments under Christ’s headship, guarding against individualism and anchoring believers in a committed fellowship (Heb. 13:17).
The first step in becoming a member at Emmaus Road Church is to attend our Foundations Retreat. This retreat takes place on a Friday night through Saturday morning. There is an optional lunch Saturday after the last session. At this retreat, you will have the opportunity to meet all the pastors, and hear what it is that makes us distinct. Attending the retreat does not mean you must become a member, but it is a chance to get to know us and for us to get to know you.
