Coronavirus and Christ
Confessions and creeds are good. They summarize and articulate the deep and glorious truths we know by faith. But calamity and the coronavirus do something else. They test the genuineness of the faith we confess.
Do we functionally believe all that we claim to believe?
We profess that God is sovereign, gracious, wise, and good, so we believe that God is ruling over COVID-19—indeed, over all things—“according to the counsel of his will” (Ephesians 1:11). We trust that God is at work in all of this for our good (Romans 8:28).
But what exactly is God up to? And what does it mean for how we respond to all of this?
John Piper just wrote a book that offers six answers to the question, What is God doing through the coronavirus? Desiring God is generously providing free access to the ebook here and the audiobook here.
We commend this resource to you. It will help us all behold and treasure the glory of Jesus in this moment.
